Our very own Alice Bailey, Crossroads Caring Café Lead, will be taking on an incredible challenge by running the Manchester Marathon on 19th April. As if that wasn’t enough, she’ll also be completing two half marathons in the lead-up — the first of which is the Hampton Court Half Marathon on Sunday 15th February — all to raise vital funds for Crossroads Care.
Alice says: ‘I’m running for Crossroads because I have the privilege of working for the charity and see first-hand the incredible dedication and love unpaid carers give to their family members and loved ones every single day.
‘Carers often put their own needs last, and the support Crossroads provides makes a real, tangible difference to their lives, offering vital respite, understanding and care when it’s needed most.
‘Training for this challenge won’t be easy, but it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges unpaid carers face. Every mile I’m going to be running is for them.’
Alice has recently returned to Crossroads after taking time out to have her children, and we’re incredibly proud of her commitment, both to her family and to the carers we support every day.
Any donation, big or small, will help Crossroads continue supporting carers in our community.
